Frequently asked questions
A few answers.
A little less to plan.
From your first question to the return label, here is what to expect when you rent oxygen for your Colorado stay.
01
Before you reserve
Do I need a prescription?
You do not need to obtain your own oxygen prescription before reserving. A physician on our team handles the prescription needed for your rental, based on a medical review. Our team coordinates the details with you.
How far in advance should I reserve?
We recommend reserving at least three business days before you arrive. Earlier is better, especially in winter.
Can you ship faster than that?
Expedited shipping may be available depending on the circumstances. Ask us about pricing and availability when you reserve.
Do you serve the town I am staying in?
We serve high-altitude destinations throughout Colorado, including Vail, Beaver Creek, Avon, Edwards, Eagle, Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, Frisco, Dillon, Silverthorne, Winter Park, Steamboat Springs, Crested Butte, Leadville and Estes Park. If your destination is not on that list, ask us — it very likely still works.
Which concentrator should I choose?
The At Home Inogen provides continuous flow and stays where you set it down. The Portable Inogen G5 is designed for walking around town, sightseeing and riding in the car. The Millennium offers a higher-flow option. If you are not sure, choose “not sure yet” on the reservation form and our team will help you decide, with our physician guiding medical needs. Compare the equipment →
What does it cost?
At Home Inogen: $299 for 2 days or $449 for 3–7 days.
Portable Inogen G5: $299 for 2 days or $449 for 3–7 days.
Millennium: $399 for 2 days or $499 for 3–7 days.
Every price includes shipping to your Colorado destination and prepaid return shipping. After the first week, rentals extend at $150 per additional week. View equipment and pricing →
Is shipping included?
Yes. Shipping to your Colorado destination and prepaid return shipping are both included in the rental price.
02
Placing your reservation
What do I need to reserve?
A rental agreement and a valid credit card are required. Customers are responsible for loss or damage to rental equipment while it is in their possession.
What happens after I submit the form?
Our team calls you to confirm the details, set you up in our client portal and walk you through the rental agreement. Once that is complete and payment is arranged, your concentrator ships to your destination. Submitting the form starts a conversation with a real person. Start your reservation →
When am I charged?
Payment is arranged when we set up your rental, after we have spoken with you and the rental agreement is signed. Nothing is charged when you submit the reservation form.
Can I reserve for someone else?
Yes. Give us their arrival and departure dates and the address they are staying at, and tell us who the equipment is for. The package will arrive in the name you give us, so it needs to match the name the property is expecting.
03
Shipping and arrival
Where do you ship?
To wherever you are staying — a hotel, a vacation rental, a condo or a private home in the high-altitude Colorado destinations we serve. The box goes to the address you give us on the reservation form, including any unit or condo number.
Do I need to tell my hotel a package is coming?
Yes. Let your hotel front desk, property manager or rental host know that a box is arriving in your name before your check-in date, and confirm that they can accept and hold it for you.
When does my rental period begin?
Your rental period begins on your arrival date — not on the day the equipment reaches the property. Shipping it early costs you nothing.
What if the box gets there before I do?
That is the idea. Your concentrator is meant to be waiting when you check in, and because your rental starts on your arrival date, the days it sits at the property do not count against your rental.
What comes in the box?
Your concentrator, cannulas, a splitter where the machine supports more than one person, setup instructions, a QR code linking to a setup video, a laminated checklist, a prepaid return shipping label and packing tape. Cannula counts and included accessories vary by machine. See the setup videos →
04
Using your concentrator
How do I set it up?
Open the box and scan the QR code for a video walking you through your machine. Setup instructions will guide you too. Follow the instructions for your equipment and the use prescribed by our physician. If anything is unclear, our team will walk you through it.
Does it need special power?
No. The At Home Inogen and the Millennium plug into a standard wall outlet. The Portable Inogen G5 runs on battery and recharges from a standard outlet.
Can more than one person use the same machine?
The Millennium can accommodate multiple users with splitters, depending on each person’s prescribed flow needs. Our team and our physician will confirm whether a shared setup is appropriate for your group. The At Home Inogen and Portable Inogen G5 are intended for one person at a time.
Can I take it out with me during the day?
The Portable Inogen G5 is designed for walking around town, sightseeing and riding in the car. The At Home Inogen and the Millennium are meant to stay where you set them down.
Can I use it while skiing?
We do not recommend the Portable Inogen G5 for skiing. It is intended for walking, sightseeing and travel around town.
Can I take it on the plane?
You do not need to. Your concentrator ships ahead to your destination and a prepaid label sends it home, so you travel without it in both directions. If you are hoping to use a concentrator during the flight itself, that is a separate arrangement — ask us before you reserve.
05
Returns and extensions
How do returns work?
A prepaid return shipping label comes with your rental, along with a laminated checklist and packing tape. Repack the concentrator in the original box, reseal it, and we will help you arrange the return pickup. Depending on the property, the box may be left somewhere approved for pickup — a hotel lobby or front porch, for example.
Can I extend my rental?
Yes. After the first week, rentals may be extended for $150 per additional week. Let our team know and we will take care of it.
06
Altitude and medical support
Will oxygen prevent altitude sickness?
We cannot promise that renting oxygen will prevent altitude sickness. Ask our physician about your individual needs and plans before you travel.
How do I know whether I need it?
Our altitude test asks about past mountain trips and your plans, and takes about a minute. It is a way to think through your history, not a medical assessment or diagnosis. Our physician can help with medical questions. Take the altitude test →
What medical support comes with the rental?
Your rental includes access to our physician for medical concerns during your rental, as well as the oxygen prescription the physician determines is appropriate. Our team coordinates day-to-day questions and connects with the physician when medical attention is needed. Learn about medical support →
Do you provide medical care?
Yes. Our physician can evaluate medical concerns, recommend care and prescribe medication when appropriate during your rental. We are not an emergency service. For severe or worsening symptoms, call 911 or seek immediate medical care; do not wait for a callback.
Are additional medications included in the rental price?
Medical support is included. If our physician prescribes an additional medication, a pharmacy fills it and you pay the pharmacy separately. Medication is not supplied with the equipment.
